OH Medical is currently seeking two experienced Senior Occupational Health Practitioners to join an inhouse Occupational Health department, in 1x Full-Time (37.5 hr) and 1x Part-Time (34 hr) Fixed Term 12 month Contract roles. The Roles:
These role offers the ideal chance for experienced Senior Occupational Health Practitioners from either a Qualified / Specialist Registered Senior Occupational Health Nurse or Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Health Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy background to join a multidisciplinary team to provide a full remit Occupational Health Service operating to high clinical standards. Your duties will include:
Provide specialist advice on complex cases involving multiple health or neurodiverse conditions, coaching managers to support employees effectively.
Develop tailored care programmes to address workplace health issues.
Act as an expert adviser for initiatives like infection prevention and health surveillance.
Conduct comprehensive fitness-for-work assessments, offering evidence-based guidance to managers, employees, and HR in line with legal requirements (e.g., Equality Act).
Prepare professional, evidence-based reports and ensure adherence to service KPIs and standards.
Facilitate case conferences to support multidisciplinary case management approaches.
Supervise, train, and evaluate junior EHW staff and students.
Deliver services flexibly, including face-to-face or remote consultations across Trust sites.
Maintain accurate EHW records in compliance with GDPR and organisational policies.
Manage and triage clinical referrals, providing expert guidance on complex cases.
Support and oversee health surveillance programmes and ensure equipment is appropriately maintained.
Audit service delivery, track outcomes, and provide performance reports to senior management.
Drive improvements in workplace health management, promoting proactive strategies and interventions.
Implement national guidelines and lead policy updates to maintain compliance.
Represent the EHW service in internal and external meetings, fostering collaboration and service engagement.
Develop and deliver bespoke training programmes addressing specific health and wellbeing needs.
Contribute to SEQOHS accreditation and ensure service compliance with national standards.
Assist in IT system enhancements to improve reporting and demonstrate EHW effectiveness.
Act as a key contact for queries and feedback, driving engagement and awareness of the EHW service.
Lead operational planning, prioritising workloads for effective service delivery.
Undertake any additional duties as required, ensuring alignment with service goals and standards.
Required Skills:
To be the successful Senior Occupational Health Practitioner candidate for this role, you'll be:
An NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered OT or Physio
Qualified to Degree/Diploma level in Occupational Health
Substantially experienced working at a senior level in the field of Occupational Health
Expertise in complex fitness-for-work assessments (face-to-face, video, or telephonic).
Exceptional report writing, workload prioritisation, and time management abilities.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work autonomously while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in mentoring junior team members and supporting their professional development.
Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Desirable: Presentation skills, management information reporting, and networking.
