We are looking for a Health, Safety, and Environmental Advisor to join our clients team and support their ongoing development and implementation of safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures across our operations in the Midlands.
Role Overview:
As a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that our workplace remains compliant with health, safety, and environmental regulations. You will work closely with various departments to foster a culture of safety and sustainability, while providing expert guidance on risk assessments, audits, and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify health, safety, and environmental hazards.
Provide advice on the implementation of safety policies, risk assessments, and procedures.
Assist in the investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Deliver health and safety training to employees to ensure compliance with legislation and best practices.
Support the company’s sustainability initiatives, including waste management, energy use, and environmental protection efforts.
Monitor and report on health, safety, and environmental performance.
Stay updated with relevant UK health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with local, national, and international standards.
Assist in emergency preparedness and response planning.
Requirements:
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent in Health & Safety.
Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
Proven experience in a similar HSE role, ideally within the civil engineering or construction industry.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Environmental qualification (e.g., IEMA) is desirable but not essential.
Full driving license and willingness to travel between sites across the Midlands and nationwide
