OH Medical is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Health Clinical Lead to join an in-house Occupational Health Department, in a Full-Time fixed term contract role (approx. 9 months likely to extend). This exciting hybrid opportunity will see you join a multidisciplinary team in Glasgow.
The Role:
This role offers the ideal chance for an experienced Occupational Health Clinical Lead to fulfil a strategic post focused on improving clinical governance and introducing clinical audit in line with recognised professional standards to a full remit Occupational Health Service already operating to high clinical standards. Your duties will include:
Lead the development and implementation of the Occupational Health Advisory Service
Support the People Manager (Wellbeing) in shaping the Wellbeing strategy, policies, and procedures to drive a positive health culture and ensure legislative compliance.
Oversee health surveillance and fitness-for-work programmes, including assessments, spirometry, and audiometry, ensuring legal and clinical compliance.
Make strategic decisions on complex cases related to fitness for work, reasonable adjustments, and redeployment, advising management accordingly.
Manage and lead Health and Wellbeing projects, including procurement, business cases, and contracts with external providers.
Supervise the Lead Health and Wellbeing Practitioners and administrative teams, ensuring compliance with legislation and clinical standards.
Drive initiatives in health awareness, occupational hygiene, and risk management to promote proactive wellbeing.
Represent the Department in professional networks
Align wellbeing activities with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy
Required Skills:
To be the successful Occupational Health Clinical Lead candidate for this role, you'll have:
An NMC Registration as a Registered Nurse with post-registration experience and a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health
Proven experience in a senior clinical role, with a strong background in complex case management and clinical decision-making.
Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing Health and Wellbeing policies, health surveillance programmes, and managing complex cases, including report writing.
Experience in planning and delivering health promotion activities.
Strong ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and effectively communicate with and influence stakeholders.
Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills.
Experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership working with representative bodies Full driving licence with the ability to travel across the Service, including occasional out-of-hours work and overnight stays.
