About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Health Nurse to join our client in a hybrid role across several locations, including Maple Cross (Herts), Beds, and Berkshire, with occasional travel to Grays (Essex). The successful candidate will be responsible for line managing a small team, managing occupational health cases and delivering health surveillance services to employees working within the construction sector. You will be an integral part of a dynamic team, providing expert advice on health and wellbeing, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
Provide expert case management services for employees, including assessments, referrals, and follow-ups.
Support with return-to-work programs and assist employees with health-related issues impacting their ability to work.
Offer confidential advice and support to employees and managers concerning illness, injury, and health-related matters.
Conduct and document assessments of fitness for work, recommending necessary adjustments or interventions.
Health Surveillance:
Conduct health surveillance activities in line with industry guidelines, such as hearing tests, lung function tests, and vision screening.
Monitor and maintain health surveillance records and report findings in accordance with legal requirements.
Provide proactive recommendations to prevent occupational health issues and ensure employee wellbeing.
Client Interaction:
Engage with stakeholders at all levels, offering professional advice on occupational health issues.
Build strong relationships with clients, supporting their health and wellbeing needs and fostering a positive environment for workplace health.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with an active NMC pin.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Health Nursing, preferably within the construction sector.
Experience in case management and delivering health surveillance.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the workplace.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently, manage a varied workload, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel to different locations as required.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
Occupational Health qualifications (such as OH Degree, Diploma, or equivalent).
Experience with health assessments such as audiometry, spirometry, and vision testing.
Experience working within the construction industry or a similar high-risk sector.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £50,000, dependent on experience.
Hybrid working model with visits to the specified locations across Herts, Beds, Berkshire, and occasional travel to Grays, Essex.
